Lagos Area Manager of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Sarat Braimah, has been honoured as the Most Influential Woman in Maritime by the Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa).
Conferred in recognition of her immense contributions to the maritime sector, the award also highlighted her role-modelling for aspiring young females in Nigeria and her effectual human resource management as NIWA’s first female area manager in Lagos.
Braimah’s transformative milestones in NIWA have not only endeared her to the agency’s management but also to key stakeholders in the maritime industry.
Speaking at the occasion in Lagos yesterday, Braimah expressed happiness at the honour and promised to keep inspiring all young persons, particularly females, to embrace the maritime world.
She further thanked CBW-Africa for the recognition, while urging all women in the service of Nigeria and Africa to remain steadfast and resilient.
Noting that Nigeria needs her women, she urged Nigerian women to always positively lead the way.
