Items confiscated from the operations conducted by officers and men of the WMC command included 17 sacks of 1,199 loaves (663.5kg) of Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana) along the Moba waterways and Sanki Beach axis, a statement from the Command Public Relations Officer, Mailafiya Magaji, read.

There were also 66,000 capsules of 225mg Tramadol and 1,257 sacks of foreign parboiled rice, collectively exceeding a duty paid value of N50 million, just as the command seized 3,750 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in two separate operations on October 27th.

The WMC, in August 2023, also seized 103 sacks containing 8,240 loaves of Cannabis Sativa, which it handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on September 7th.

Meanwhile, Comptroller Odaudu Salefu has reiterated that the general public needed to respect and adhere to government fiscal policies, prohibitions and restrictions, according to the statement, adding that these measures are meant to safeguard national security, foster economic growth and contribute to the nation’s overall progress.
