Pioneer broadband service provider, Smile Communications Nigeria has introduced the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) service to make life easier and communication more rewarding for its teeming subscribers.
An innovative self-help service, this latest introduction into the Nigerian market is essentially a mobile communication technology used worldwide to access network services by simply sending text between a mobile phone and an application in the network.
However, the Smile USSD service is unique as subscribers can access its various services without using any internet connection or data but by simply dialing *4504# from their mobile phones. Subscribers no longer need to call customer service or go online to access particular services, but simply dial *4504#.
With the new USSD *4505# service, subscribers can redeem airtime/bundles, buy bundles with airtime, check account balance, update NIN, as well as manage auto-renewal at their convenience.
Explaining its user-friendliness, the Chief Marketing Officer of Smile Communications Nigeria, Abdul Hafeez, stated: “All (that) our customers need is to use the service to dial *4504# from their mobile phones, enter their Smile Number and the four-digit PIN as selected by the user, and they are good to go.”
Famous as the first 4G LTE network in West Africa, Smile Communications Nigeria was the first to launch VoLTE on its network and continued its innovation, having introduced SmileVoice.
SmileVoice is a free mobile app that enables customers with any android or apple iPhone device (including devices that are not VoLTE-enabled) to make super-clear voice calls over Smile’s 4G LTE network, enabling super-fast data and super-clear voice, all from one data bundle.
Smile was also the first to introduce an unlimited offering, providing the best super-fast internet experience in Nigeria.
