The Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has set a new first quarter revenue collection figure of ₦347.9 billion.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Lagos, the Area Controller, Compt. Frank Onyeka, said the figure beat the command’s revenue collection of ₦304 billion in the corresponding period of 2024 by 12.6 per cent.
Breaking down the performance month by month, Onyeka said a total of ₦116.41 billion, representing 24.06 per cent, was collected in January 2025, exceeding the ₦88.43 billion collected in January 2024 by 24.06 per cent.
In February 2025, the command collected the sum of ₦103.25 billion, beating the ₦100.25 billion raise in the corresponding period of 2024 by 2.90 per cent.
The command further collected the sum of ₦128.26 billion in March 2025, 10.3 per cent higher than the ₦115.1 billion collected in March 2024.
Meanwhile, Onyeka called on stakeholders for more honest declarations in order to ensure a seamless operational environment and a conducive ecosystem that benefits all sides.
Commending them for their improvement so far, Onyeka assured that he would continue to engage with stakeholders in order to achieve more complete improvement in all aspects of the command’s operations.
