The African Youth Union Commission ( AYUC) has announced the confirmation of the first National Executive Council of the AYUC Nigeria Chapter.
The Commission in a statement on Thursday 12th of April from the Office of the Country Representative (Nigeria) noted that It’s indeed a new dawn for the entire Nigerian Youths and a new sigh of relief towards purposeful engagement and development of Youth, the Country and Africa at large.
The New National Officers include 16 vibrant, high-profiled and and resourceful youths from across the country. Some of whom are Lateef Oladimeji SALAAM – A foremost National Youth Leader and grassroot mobilizer as the Country Representative (Nigeria), Halimah Nuradeen from Kano State – a United Nations trained personnel on Anti-drug abuse as the Deputy Country Reps. (Nigeria), Vanessa Yarkwan from Benue State – a Professional Counsellor as secretary general , Graham Elendu a youth enthusiast and media consultant to serve as publicity secretary, Abiodun Essiet as director women, gender and development affairs , and saddled with the office of the director legal affairs is Barr. Idris Alao – a young Asst. Lecturer at the University of Ilorin amongst others.
In his reaction on behalf of the newly appointed executives, Amb. Graham Elendu the newly appointed Publicity Secretary, thanked the AYUC leadership for the confidence reposed in them and promised they would use their office to serve the country, Nigeria and African youths at large.
“Our goal is driven by our actions towards redefining youth development, making significant and direct impact in the lives of our teaming Youths” Amb Graham Elendu stated.
The country Representative, Lateef Oladimeji noted that the appointment is with immediate effect with an inaugural meeting/Press Briefing to hold on Mon 16th April in Abuja.
“We implore the new National Officers to think development, service and commitment first. They should also use their good office towards projecting and representing the organization (AYUC Nigeria) decently by bringing remarkable development, positive impacts and great fortunes to our Youths, Nigeria and Africa at large” Lateef Oladimeji (the Country Rep.) said.
