Buoyed by the recognition of its efforts, the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited says it will continue to empower, create opportunities for local players and nurture talents, as the only true way to build a brighter and more sustainable future.
The NLNG Managing Director, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, made the declaration after the company was awarded the Local Content Company of the Year 2022 at the ongoing 2023 Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) in Abuja.
Also, for its Train 7 project, it emerged the Gas Infrastructure Project of the year 2022 at an award and dinner ceremony at the State House, Abuja, on Monday.
The awards were handed to Mshelbila, by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Amb. Gabriel Aduda, and the Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Executive Secretary, Simbi Wabote.
Mshelbila described the awards as testaments to NLNG’s unwavering commitment to building human capital and local capacity, adding that they affirm the company’s belief in the immense potential of Nigerians.
“As we continue to drive growth and create opportunities for our nation, we remain steadfast in our resolve to empower local players, nurture talent and foster innovation,” a statement from the General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Andy Odeh, cited Mshelbila to say.
“Only by investing in building capacity in the country can we truly build a brighter and more sustainable future.
“By the award of Gas Infrastructure Project of the Year 2022 for Train 7 project, we are once again reminded of our duty to not only push the boundaries of what is possible but to do so in a manner that safeguards our environment and uplifts our communities.”
According to him, the recognition fuels the company’s determination to continue championing initiatives that contribute to Nigeria’s burgeoning economy and give the nation a competitive edge in the global energy landscape.
