Lekki Port appoints Jialin as director, elevates two others

The Board of Directors of Lekki Free Port Terminal has appointed project development and investment expert, Liu Jialin, as the company’s director, and elevated Opeyemi Emmanuel-Olubake to head of legal, and Yi “Ray” Chengwei to chief commercial officer.

Jialin, who started his career with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) as a technician in 2003 and rose to become its chief technical officer, has 19 years of project development and investment experience.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Port Channel and Coastal Engineering from Tianjin University, China. He has worked in Nigeria, Latin America, the United States and China (Beijing).

He was involved in the project development of Lekki Deep Seaport, the Bogota Metro Line 1 Project and the MAR2 PPP highway project in Colombia, the Colombo Port City project in Sri Lanka, and the Grand Avenue Project in Los Angeles, United States.

On their part, Emmanuel-Olubake had served as the in-house lawyer while Chengwei was the Head of Commercial & Legal Department respectively before their elevation.

Chairman of the Lekki Port Board of Directors, Mr. Biodun Dabiri, welcomed the newly appointed director to the board and charged him to bring his rich wealth of management and board experience to enhance the company as it prepares for commercial operations.

He also congratulated Emmanuel-Olubake and Chengwei on their well-deserved promotions.
