Speaking when he received at the embassy in Abuja the visiting Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria (CSSLN), Adebo Ogundoyin, Dunhai said that “as China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership grows, legislative cooperation remains a key part.

He added in a post on  X  that “China’s zero-tariff treatment on 100 per cent taxable items for 53 African diplomatic partners will boost high-quality China-Africa cooperation.”

He added that the partnership will “step up all-round practical cooperation, including legislative exchanges, to enrich bilateral ties.”

On his part, Ogundoyin, who is also the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, expressed satisfaction with his visit to the Chinese envoy in his capacity as CSSLN chairman to present the 36 state assemblies’ collective desire to deepen cooperation in areas vital to sub-national development.

Ogundoyin disclosed that the meeting “focused on exploring strategic partnerships between the conference and the People’s Republic of China.”

Also discussed was “potential collaboration on legislative capacity building, full digitisation of state assemblies, infrastructure, SME investment, and educational exchange and technology transfer.”

Thanking Ambassador Dunhai “for the warm reception and encouraging responses,” Ogundoyin said the CSSLN “remains committed to building bridges that strengthen governance, empower our institutions, and deliver real benefits to our people.”
