ICNL donates sanitary facility to Lagos school
  • Promises more infrastructure upgrade

For the about 1,000 students and members of staff of Randle Junior High School, Apapa, Lagos, it was a memorable day as integrated shipping and logistics firm, Inland Containers Nigeria Limited (ICNL), gifted them a block of modern toilets.

The structure, complementing the inadequate one in already in place, towards ensuring a better sanitary environment in the school, comprised separate sets of toilets for male and female students, as well as separate sets for male and female members of staff.

Commissioning the facility Wednesday, the Managing Director of ICNL, Mr. Ismael Yusuf, said it was “a token to assist the school authority with a good sanitary facility, for the students to avoid contracting communicable diseases.

“We have been doing this in Kaduna and Kano, where we also have presence, so we deemed it necessary to also give to the community where we have our head office, and I pray that by God’s grace, we will continue to do more as the company progresses.”

Speaking further on the significance of the project, Yusuf noted that as leaders of tomorrow, the students should “be brought up properly, and in a good environment.”

According to him, the school authority, which assigned the spot for the facility, has assured that it would be well maintained, and towards that end the company provided borehole for steady water supply to the toilets.

On his part, the Principal, Mr. Oladele Olugbinle, was very grateful to ICNL for the gesture which he described as a landmark infrastructure because “one of the things that affect learning is not having a conducive convenience.

“It is not that we don’t have at all, but they are inadequate, and this set of toilets has improved the worth of the school, and will greatly help the children to learn in a good environment.”
