- Hazie Masters Club making the donation at the Nigeria Red Cross Orphanage in Lagos…recently

As part of their corporate social responsibility drive, members of the Lagos-based Hazie Masters Club of Nigeria have put smiles on the faces of motherless and abandoned children at the Nigeria Red Cross Orphanage in Lagos.
Led on the visit by their President, Chief Richard Agbapuru, the club donated the sum of N700,000, as well as noodles and bags of rice, among other edibles to the orphanage located at Makoko in Yaba.
They also visited children with cancer at the Alima Atta Oncology Ward of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, where they donated N1 million in aid of the children’s treatment.
Presenting the items at the orphanage, Agbapuru, who is the Chairman/Chief Executive of RichyGold International Group, said the club had chosen to identify and share with the orphanage, which was founded in 1964 via an Act of Parliament, in caring for the motherless and abandoned children.
He commended the management of the orphanage for the humanitarian services to the children, many of whom either lost their mothers soon after their birth or were dumped on the streets by their “unwanted” mothers.
He explained that God has been gracious to members of the club, who now have chosen to be of blessing to the children at the orphanage, and assured that soon, the club would do more, as the maiden outing was to simply identify and establish a relationship with the orphanage.
Agbapuru further encouraged the management and staff of the orphanage to continue in the same Godly spirit that brought them to serve in the orphanage, adding: “We will support you whenever we can.”
Excited at the gesture and full of appreciation, the Chairman of Lagos chapter of the Nigeria Red Cross(NRC), Mrs. Victoria Adebola Kolawole, thanked the Hazie members and God “for the great and wonderful gift items and huge amount of money donated to the orphanage.
“Today (Tuesday) is 1st of February, 2023 and it is the beginning of a new month, and your club has come to surprise us with a large heart of giving, a heart that is not thinking of itself alone, a heart that is thinking of the less-privileged, the motherless and abandoned children home at the Red Cross, Lagos.
“I say a very big thank you and may the good Lord who has seen the intent of your hearts surely reward every member of Hazie Club with long life and more prosperity.”
At LUTH, Hazie members were received by the Deputy Director (Nursing) in charge of Alima Atta Oncology Ward, Mrs. B.R. Agbolunge, and the Senior Registrar, Dr. U.O. Ibrahim.
Presenting a cheque of N1 million on behalf of the club, the Vice President, Anuma Amaechi explained that Hazie members have interest in relieving the challenges of cancer patients, and the least they could do was to assist as much as they could afford.
Receiving the donation, Mrs. Agbolunge thanked Hazie members, saying that the children would be happy as the money would go a long way in their treatment.
Meanwhile, the management of both centres also spoke well of a member of the club, Mr. Tony Onwumere, who was liaising with the relevant stakeholders towards a seamless visit.
Hazie Club, at its end-of-year party last December, had promised to begin reach-out to the less-privileged, stating that there was no better way of appreciating God for his blessings, including making some of them billionaires in their different endeavours.
Others on the charity trip included Obumnaeme Solex Obiudo, Tony Onwumere, and Remmy Uche Mbagwu.
