Suspected gunmen have reportedly abducted one Mrs. Omotolani Agnes Ogungbesan, wife of the High Chief Peter Ogungbesan – the Baale of Ora Kingdom in Eredo Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Epe Division, Lagos State.
Narrating the incident based on the report from his two children who were in the woman’s car when she was kidnapped, Ogungbesan said that his wife left home for church service on Sunday, 21st July, 2024 but was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on her way back home at about 2:45pm.
“My wife worships at the Apostolic Faith Church, along Ijebu-Ode Road – three minutes from home at Ora community. She was reportedly kidnapped a stone-throw to the house by three men in a Toyota big daddy car, red colour,” he said.
“They dragged my wife down from her Toyota Avalon car where two of her children were with her but left the children in the car and went away with my wife alone.”
According to the baale, who pleaded with security forces to help rescue his wife, he has reported the case to the Noforija Divisional Police Station, Zone 2, Alagbon, and Elemoro Divisional Police Quarters.
Meanwhile, a source close to the family said the man has been very unsettled since the incident, noting: “It is not a palatable situation at all. Members of the Ogungbesan family are all praying that the Almighty God will intervene.
“They are praying that the police, the NSCDC, and even the military will combine strength to rescue the baale’s wife hale and hearty. This incident is just so absurd and sad.”
