Abuja Hilton ushers in yuletide with, lights, giant Christmas Tree
Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Transnational Hotels and Tourism Services Limited, Valentine Ozigbo (right), the General Manager, Etienne Gailliez (left), and others during the event in Abuja…Monday By Chidiebele Nwachukwu Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Monday wowed customers and friends, including the diplomatic community, when it lit its giant Christmas Tree to usher in the Yuletide season. Also present at the ceremony at the hotel’s foyer included Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Transnational Hotels and Tourism Services Limited, owners of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, and Transcorp Metropolitan Hotels; the General Manager, Etienne Gailliez, and the Public Relations Manager, Mr. Shola Adeyemo, among others. In his remarks, Ozigbo said the hotel lights the symbolic Christmas Tree annually to mark the beginning of Yuletide. He urged both current and prospective customers to take advantage of the hotels’ exciting seasonal offers to patronise it, celebrate and add value to their lives. On his part, Gailliez called for peace across the world. The evening was further spiced by the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society (AMEMUSO) Choir, alongside a children group, whose sonorous tunes and melodies evoked seasonal feelings. The children, whose ages range from two to five years, also performed a drama piece that captured the biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ. In his exhortation at the event, Rev. Fr. John Oche traced the Christmas Tree to the visit of the three wise men to Christ after his birth. According to him, the wise men were guided by stars, which decorate the Christmas Tree. Fr. Oche further prayed for peace and against terrorist activities in Nigeria throughout the season, while urging Nigerians to remember the poor of the society with a show of love, which Christ symbolises. The hotel also used the occasion to raise money for charity.
