The Peoples Republic of China has sent condolences to the Nigerian Government and the bereaved family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday at the age of 82.
In a message on X by the Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, China said the former president was a preeminent leader, who led his country and people “to great achievement in national development.”
Jian, who signed the condolence register, stated that “Buhari was a dear friend of the Chinese people and made important contribution to China-Nigeria friendship, cooperation and overall bilateral ties.
“We mourn President Buhari’s passing and offer our deepest sympathies to the government and people of Nigeria, and to his family.”
