19-Year-Old Mother Allegedly Suffocates Her Newborn Baby In Sokoto
A 19-year-old Munirat Bagana, an indigene of Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has been arrested by the police in the Sokoto for allegedly suffocating her newborn baby boy to death.
Munirat, a student of Sokoto State School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, was arrested on Monday after dumping the dead baby in a dust bin.
She however denied killing the baby, claiming that she had a still birth and the dead baby was a premature.
The Sokoto State police command PPRO, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, who paraded the suspect before newsmen, said she would soon be charged after investigation is concluded.
Also paraded was one Nnamdi Nwafor, 32, who specialises in stealing vehicles at churches.
Nnamdi, whose stock in trade is to trail car owners to church and steal their car keys, was arrested in Kaduna through intelligence gathering with a stolen Mercedes Benz.
He allegedly stole the car at a Catholic church along Ahmadu Bello Way in Sokoto.
